From 5th October 2011 to 11th October 2011, it was like a mini-break from college, as I was out in the streets of Mumbai with my family, who were here for there Durga Puja vacation!!!
It was fun roaming around in taxis, autos and of course local trains all over the city with them. It was my mom and brother's first trip to Mumbai.
The first outing was Elephanta Caves. We had to catch a ferry from the Gateway of India to reach there.
While returning, we were stuck in a heavy downpour and high tides right in the middle the sea. It was the time for sunset, so the water and the sky was dark; plus the sound of thunder. We were all scared, especially mom!!!
There were three life boats guiding us. One of the sailors was busy pumping the water out of the motor.
All I was wishing for at that time was to see the Taj hotel or the Gateway of India to assure myself that we are almost near the shore!!!
Finally I did see the Gateway of India (and the rain also stopped) and not only me but everyone in the ferry took a deep breath!!! It was one of the scariest adventure ever to happen to me.
After that day, the rest of the trip was smooth and chilled-out. We did a lot of shopping, had great drives around the city!!!
Now, I'm back to the world of college assignments!!! Just waiting for 23rd October---the day I'm leaving for my hometown for the Diwali vacations.
